This young landscape has great potential. Though there are numerous, well planted shrub beds, the landscaper neglected to install a geotextile fabric under the bark mulch. Weeding has been a much larger chore than it should be. The burning bush have turned a deep red.

This home lawn of predominately crested wheatgrass is maintained without the use of any synthetic fertilizers or pesticides. This grass is a close relative of the native quackgrass and makes an acceptable low maintenance turf. Many are rejecting the American myth of a monoculture lawn in favor of an environmentally responsible landscape.
